Balhannah
Shaw + Smith’s Balhannah Vineyard (35 hectares of vineyard) is planted predominantly to Sauvignon Blanc and close-planted Shiraz on property surrounding the winery at 340 - 380m elevation. The soil is free draining sandy loam over red clay with underlying quartzite and shale, with varying amounts of ironstone pebbles.

Lenswood
Our Lenswood Vineyard, about 10km north west of the winery, is planted mainly to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, at 455 – 500m elevation. Undulating with east and west facing aspects, the soils are brown loams over clay with broken shale on the ridges. The vineyard was planted in 1999 and is 20 hectares in total.

Piccadilly
Piccadilly Vineyard is located 15km north west of Balhannah, in the highest and coolest part of the Adelaide Hills. In 2020, north and south facing aspects were planted to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir at over 10,000 vines per hectare. This high density vineyard sits at 500m elevation, on sandy and clay loam soils, ironstone and quartz.

Lobethal
Lobethal Vineyard sits at 500m elevation with north and south facing aspects. Here, sandy clay soils intermixed with quartz, ironstone, sandstone and shale are home to 10 hectares of Chardonnay vines. The site was purchased in 2024, and in the coming years we plan to increase the vine density through layering and new plantings.
